With the acceleration of the urbanization process, the output of urban people's living garbage is also rising. The rapid growth of living garbage must be harmless treatment, which mainly involves incineration and landfill. Different components have different physicochemical properties. Calorific value is one of the more important physical and chemical characteristics. When calorific value of waste is higher than 3344KJ/kg, it meets the minimum calorific value line of incineration. Therefore, the calorific value of waste directly affects the subsequent waste disposal, and the volatility directly affects the stability of the operation of waste incineration plant. After the implementation of Shanghai Municipal Household Waste Management Regulations in July 2019, the physical composition of dry waste in Shanghai was mainly rubber and plastic, followed by paper and kitchen waste, accounting for 41.57%, 29.70% and 16.00% respectively. And contains a small amount of wood, bamboo, textile, glass components, with the popularity of natural gas in Shanghai, Shanghai garbage almost does not contain dust, furnace ash and other lime-soil garbage.

In this paper, the high calorific value fluctuation of dry base of main components (paper, rubber and plastic, wood and bamboo, textile and kitchen waste) of Shanghai municipal household waste was studied. In 2021, 20 samples will be randomly selected from each of the five waste components of paper, rubber and plastic, wood and bamboo, textile and kitchen waste from two incineration plants in Shanghai. According to the Sampling and Analysis Method of Household Waste (CJ/T 313-2009), the samples will be pre-treated and tested.

Through the dry-base high calorific value analysis of different waste components in two waste incineration plants, the contribution to the overall volatility of domestic waste was preliminarily discussed. The main conclusions are as follows:

    1. Paper, wood, bamboo, textile, these three contain cellulose, hemicellulose and other similar chemical composition, its dry base high calorific value range of 15000~19000KJ/kg; High heat value of rubber and plastic dry base is as high as 30000KJ/kg.

    2. For volatility, the high calorific value of dry base fluctuates the most in kitchen waste category, and the least in wood and bamboo category, while the fluctuations in paper, rubber and plastic category and textile category are similar.

    3. The absolute value of high calorific value of rubber and plastic waste dry base is about 1 ~ 3 times of that of other components, and the component proportion is high, which contributes greatly to the fluctuation of high calorific value of the whole waste dry base.

The plastic component in domestic waste is one of the key indicators, which has a certain impact on the operational stability of incineration facilities and carbon emissions. It is suggested that more attention should be paid to the rubber and plastic components in the source of waste classification in the future, and that the rubber and plastic components with high utilization value should be classified and sorted.
