  • The groundbreaking ceremony for Kyrgyzstan's first waste-to-energy project has taken place, with a Chinese company investing $95 million in its construction.

According to a report from Environmental Technology Network, on April 1st, Junchixin Corporation (stock code: 301109) issued an announcement stating that on March 29th, the signing ceremony and groundbreaking ceremony for the Bishkek Waste-to-Energy Technology Disposal Project were held in the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bishkek. Dai Daoguo, General Manager of Junchixin Environmental Protection (Kyrgyzstan) Investment Co., Ltd., signed the investment agreement for the waste-to-energy technology disposal project with the authorized representative of the Kyrgyz Republic's cabinet, Bishkek Mayor Aybek Zhumasaliyev. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov, Chinese Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Du Dewen, and Bishkek Mayor Aybek Zhumasaliyev.

The theme of this investment agreement is an investment project to be implemented by the investor, aimed at constructing a waste-to-energy technology disposal plant near the landfill site in the May 1st District of Bishkek. The planned waste processing capacity for this project is 3000 tons per day, and the investor will construct the project in phases as per the cabinet's requirements.

Initially, the investor will build a waste-to-energy technology disposal plant with a processing capacity of 1000 tons per day, with an annual processing volume of 365,000 tons. Later, based on the garbage volume provided by the cabinet for Bishkek City and Chu River Province, as well as the requirements of national institutions, the investor will construct additional processing lines to handle the newly generated waste.

The total investment amount is approximately $95 million, with 30% of the investment sourced from the investor's own funds and 70% sourced from financing.

Junchixin Corporation stated that the successful implementation of the project would contribute to expanding the company's business scope, providing a new breakthrough in the relatively saturated and competitive domestic market environment, and offering new growth opportunities for the company.

Additionally, the Bishkek Waste-to-Energy Technology Disposal Project is the first waste incineration power generation project in the Kyrgyz Republic. If successfully implemented after signing the investment agreement, it will greatly improve the local living environment, provide green electricity for the local community, benefit society and the people, enhance the company's international influence, and lay a solid foundation for the company's expansion of solid waste treatment and green energy business in Central Asia and other countries along the Belt and Road Initiative.
