The 9th International Training Workshop of Waste to Energy Successfully Commences
On November 10, 2025, the 9th International Training Workshop of Waste to Energy Technology successfully commenced in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with over 100 representatives and participants attended the opening ceremony. The workshop is organized by Advanced Energy International Joint Research Center of Zhejiang University, and co-organized by the International Consultant Committee of Waste to Energy (ICCWtE).
This workshop attracted a remarkable 105 applications from 21 countries across Asia, Africa, South America and Europe. 24 applicants as official participants from 9 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Yemen, Egypt, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia, India, and Colombia, were selected to engage in an intensive 15-day training program. The workshop will encompass an array of critical topics, including China’s waste management frameworks and policies, waste-to-energy technology, pollutant control mechanism, operational strategies and sustainable business models.
Since 2016, the International Training Workshop of Waste to Energy has successfully trained 206 trainees from 39 countries. These trainees represent a diverse range of sectors, including government agencies, universities, research institutes, enterprises, and non-governmental organizations. This workshop has built up substantial international influence, achieving demonstrable impacts in knowledge dissemination and professional practice.

As an integral component of ICCWtE’s mission, the 9th Training Workshop of Waste to Energy is co-hosted by Prof. Xiaodong Li, founder of ICCWtE from Zhejiang University, alongside Prof. Mi Yan from Zhejiang University of Technology, Vice Chairman of ICCWtE. Prof. Agamutu Pariatamby, ICCWtE Chairman will offer invaluable insights and expert lectures, underpinning the workshop’s commitment to excellence and knowledge exchange.
