  • Training Workshop of Waste to Energy for North Africa

    The Training Workshop of Waste to Energy for North Africa was successfully held online on December 5th~6th, 2022. This training workshop was hosted by Zhejiang University, jointly organized by International Consultant Committee of Waste to Energy (ICCWtE), China Everbright Environment Group Limited and Global WtERT Council-Earth Engineering Center, Columbia University.

    A total of 7 experts from Zhejiang university, Columbia university and China Everbright Environment Group Limited, namely Prof. Dr. Xiaodong Li and Prof. Dr. Qunxing Huang from Zhejiang University, Mr. Reda Kabbaj and Prof. Thanos Bourtsalas from Columbia University,Mr. Zhengning Guo, Mr. Xiaoyu Zheng, Mr. Zhuoli Tian from Everbright Environment, have made wonderful presentations. The topics are as follows “Municipal solid waste incineration and its application in China”, “Waste Incineration Technology”, “Waste to Energy Technology and Development--Everbright Environment”, “Leachate Treatment Technology--Everbright Environment”, “Comparison of Waste to Energy Project Development in Asia and Europe”, and “Training Workshop of Waste to Energy for North Africa”.

    Meanwhile, 52 trainees from Morocco, Egypt and Tunisia take an active role in lectures. The professors interacted in lectures and patiently answered the questions raised by the students. One of the target of Training Workshop of Waste to Energy for North Africa is to provide a platform between enterprise and members to share scientific/technical training and lectures/guidance on WtE upon request. Experts made great contributions to the training workshop through their lectures. Their excellent presentations gave trainees insight into waste to energy researched, built a great communication bridge with experts and deepened the international scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation. All participants gave high recognition to this training and thought this workshop greatly help them improve their scientific and technological ability by learning Chinese experience and technology on waste-to-energy.
