  • 7th Waste Management and Waste to Energy Asia Summit 2023 · Thailand Focus

The "7th Waste Management and Waste to Energy Asia Summit 2023 · Thailand Focus", initiated by INBC GLOBAL, was grandly held from October 25 to 26, 2023 at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. This summit brought together governments, associations, project owners, investors, technology & equipment suppliers, consulting agencies, and companies across the upstream and downstream in the industrial chain to collectively explore the the best path for the future development of waste management in Thailand.

During the summit, Mr. Stephen Yee, Deputy Manager of International Business division of SUS Environment, delivered a keynote speech with the theme of "Creating a Cleaner and More Friendly Living Environment".  Mr. Stephen Yee introduced SUS's relentless exploration and successful practice in China's waste incineration industry, and he also engaged in in-depth discussion with the members on the current status of environmental climate change and the development challenges of waste incineration in Southeast Asia.

Mr. Stephen Yee emphasized that currently, the global concentration of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases has reached unprecedented levels, leading to issues such as rising sea levels and water scarcity. The transformation of the economy towards low-carbon, environmentally friendly, resource-efficient, and sustainable practices has become an inevitable trend. The future of waste-to-energy industry in Southeast Asia's holds great promise.

By participating in this summit, SUS directly communicated its cooperation intentions with potential project owners, aiming to solve more practical problems for them.

Currently, most waste-to-energy projects in Thailand are small-scale, processing less than 1000 tons per day of waste. These projects include both waste incineration and refuse-derived fuel (RDF) projects. Compared to the Chinese domestic market, Thailand's waste-to-energy market still holds significant development potential. SUS's many years of practical exploration has provided Thailand with more advanced and adaptable technology and solutions for reference. The dissemination and utilization of the "SUS experience" in Thailand can contribute to the high-quality development of the waste incineration industry in Thailand and, potentially, the entire Southeast Asian region.

With a concentration on the investment and operation of Waste-to-Energy projects, SUS Environment covers the  complete set of equipment supply and engineering solutions as it goes global, collaborating with partners in building Eco-industrial parks. In the future, SUS Environment will continue to cultivate the international market and promote the transformation of waste into energy, setting sail for global expansion.
