  • Where does the Waste Photovoltaic Module Flow?

With the implementation of the "Double Carbon" strategy, China's photovoltaic industry has been developing at a high speed in recent years, and China has become the world's largest producer of photovoltaic modules and application country of photovoltaic power generation. Photovoltaic modules, that is, solar panels, have a service life. In the next few years, a large number of photovoltaic modules will be retired and abandoned in China. These discarded photovoltaic modules can be recycled if they are properly handled, but if they are not properly handled, they will have a serious negative impact on the environment. Now the recycling market of waste photovoltaic modules is very hot, so how do you deal with these recycled photovoltaic modules?

At present, some formal recycling enterprises have started the recycling of waste photovoltaic modules. The goal of the recycling line is to effectively recycle all high-value materials of photovoltaic modules, such as junction boxes, glass, aluminum frames, cables, silver-copper backboards, etc., in which the recovery rate of aluminum frames, junction boxes, cables and other materials can reach 100%, and the recovery rate of silver, glass, solder strips and other materials can reach more than 90%. After cleaning and purification of silicon batteries, the silicon purity can reach 99.93%.

According to reports, the recycling production line like this not only has a high recovery rate, but also meets a high standard in environmental protection requirements. Through new technical means, the discharge of toxic and harmful gases and the pollution of heavy metals to the environment in the treatment process are avoided in all links.

The recycling market of photovoltaic modules has a huge prospect, but to truly form a green closed loop of the photovoltaic industry chain, it is necessary to continue to improve relevant policies and standards to guide and standardize the recycling industry.

Photovoltaic is a green energy source, and the photovoltaic industry is also a green industry. However, to form a green closed loop in this industrial chain, it is inseparable from environmental protection recycling after photovoltaic modules are retired. At present, the recycling industry of photovoltaic modules in China is still in its infancy, and there are some problems, such as hot business in small workshops and insufficient food for regular large enterprises, which pollute the environment on the one hand and waste resources on the other. Therefore, it is urgent to improve relevant policies and standards, guide and standardize the recycling of photovoltaic modules, and at the same time, establish a sound responsibility mechanism to strengthen environmental supervision over the whole process of recycling and disposal. While producing green energy, we should pay more attention to the whole chain environmental protection and reduce the impact on the environment, so that the photovoltaic industry can achieve green and low-carbon sustainable development.
